About AltLibre
AltLibre helps European organisations reduce their dependence on US technology. From its base in Cornwall, it audits existing software stacks, identifies dependencies and licensing exposure, and manages migration to European and open-source alternatives: Linux desktops, Collabora Office instead of Microsoft 365, Nextcloud instead of Google Drive or Dropbox, Proton and Tutanota instead of Gmail and Outlook, and a modular European-hosted ERP in place of SAP or Dynamics 365. Engagements run in four phases: assessment, pilot, training and full migration. Typical outcomes are licensing savings of 60 to 90 per cent, ERP deployment in weeks rather than months, and full data residency under European law. The approach is vendor-neutral and built on trusted European and open-source technologies, including Linux, Collabora, Nextcloud, Odoo, Proton, Tutanota and GAIA-X. AltLibre also publishes practical guidance on digital sovereignty, the US CLOUD Act, FISA 702 and migration planning for organisations that want their data governed by European rules.
